  I have also been working to encourage teachers to use pattern play with children as a way of extending the patterns they create with concrete materials into computer generated artistic creations. It is a wonderful way to enhance children's creative experiences. Since today's children are increasingly adept at using both digital cameras and computer tools, this new form of pattern play is both simple and highly enjoyable.  It also serves to connect children with basic mathematical concepts associated with pattern creation.
